Trinity Yachts LLC has signed a letter of intent to acquire a shipyard in Gulfport, Miss. to expand its operations for building and repairing luxury custom superyachts.
Trinity’s New Orleans yard was slightly damaged by Hurricane Katrina. The acquisition would double the company’s production and refit capacity, according to John Dane III, Trinity’s president and CEO.
The firm is in the process of adding 100 residential units to the Mississippi facility to house workers displaced by the storm.
Privately held Trinity Yachts specializes in custom-built motoryachts of aluminum or steel up to 400 feet in length.
